To practice the ID?
I have some photos of bamboo shoots - I already know the correct identification but if anyone like to guess the correct names here you can try to guess! Some are not so easy, one clue is that all are Phyllostachys.

Excellent, you have most of them correct, #6 though is not viridis so we still have #1, #2, #6 to identify, I think that these remaining 3 bamboos are not so common in Europe. Here are the correct ID's thus far.Rhum a écrit :1

O.K., here are the remaining 3
#1=Stimulosa
#2=Platyglossa
#6=Makinoi
All are photos of bamboo that produce mature looking shoots and still it can be very difficult to identify from just the shoots as you say. Then we have the species where the mature shoots can look the same and it is nearly impossible to identify, no?
